Lady's Got a "Bug"

For a few days Sadie was all congested, so we took her to see Dr. Kennon. Good thing we did! Turns out Sadie has RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) - symptoms for her right now are heavy congestion, runny nose and raspy cough. She's been having a tough time sleeping at night (I learned babies don't realize they can breathe through their mouths) and is pretty much restless throughout the day too. It's been a long couple of days for mom and dad to say the least. Doctor says it should pass in a few days, but we have to watch her closely.

Sadie's still a happy girl through it all, posing in her onesie that Aunt Kristin made for her. Looks more like a mug shot.

This second photo is our desperate attempt to get a picture of her smiling. Our camera is always 3 seconds too slow. This is the best we could get...

Off to the Land of Obama

Last night was the first night I was away from Sadie since she was born. Duty called at work, and I had to go on a trip to Chicago. Luckily for this first time it was only overnight. Alex said Sadie was hysterical all night - leading up to bed time. I said "she must have missed mama." Alex said "that doesn't help me any."

The Grand Tour

This weekend Sadie completed her New England tour of all great grandparents (Gramps Lohr, Memere Casavant, Grandfather Olechna, and Grandma & Grandpa Bonacker). And each time, she cried through the whole thing. We are beginning to think she's anti-elderly.

We are so happy they each had a chance to meet her and get a keepsake photo. (The only photo missing is Sadie with Grandma and Grandpa Bonacker - hopefully we can rectify that soon).

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Grandma bought Sadie a cute St. Patrick's Day t-shirt from Old Navy, but wouldn't cooperate for a cute photo op.

Sadie's in her second week of daycare now and really seems to like it (as much as you can tell from a 10 week old). The other toddlers there get excited when she arrives and like to "help out". And she's all smiles when dropped off in the morning, which makes us feel better.

I Made It To 2 Months!

Today Sadie went for her first doctor's appointment since just coming home from the hospital. Since January she has gained 2.5 lbs (11.5 lbs) and has grown a little over an inch (23 1/8"). Dr. Kennon said that she was colicky and mom should expect the fussiness to continue for another month. Hurrayyyyy!

While at the doctors, Sadie also received a number of vaccinations. When the nurse stuck her with the needle, she let out a howl that lasted no less than 30 seconds. It was pretty pitiful. She's recovering with two giant band-aids on her thighs.

She's getting so big...just see the difference in 1 month vs. 2.

Dad's Craving Photos...

Dad is stuck at work right now and is begging for some photos of his babe. I guess I'll indulge...since she is gorgeous!

Just to explain this photo - since it raises a lot of eyebrows...we are not watching inappropriate tv in the background. It's a Hershey's Bliss commercial. Swear to God.

Doo-sey of a Two-sey Month Old!

In just two more days we hit the big two month mark. Big things are happening too - Sadie will visit her pediatrician to receive her first round of shots, and she'll be getting ready for mom to return to work.

It's been a busy two months. We've done a lot of shopping on boring winter days and we took a trip to upstate NY for a wedding. Sadie has also had a few milestones - she's become a smiling fool (particularly in the morning) and talks up a storm. She seems to always be babbling about something.

Here are a few pictures from her 2 month journey....
