Nana's Treat

Nana spent the day with her grandbaby today and treated her to a morning of Gymboree in Westborough. It looks super cute and up Sadie's alley.

Egg-cellent Adventure

We had pre-Easter fun with the Assumption College Alumni Association today, who hosted a children's Mass, egg hunt and brunch. Church didn't go so well. Seemed that Sadie was the only one who couldn't sit still or help herself from loud outbursts - she spent the majority of the time outside. We made the mistake of leaving the house without snacks, so that was half of the problem.

Egg hunt had lots of kids, divided into 4 years and under and 5 years and over. Even with this breakdown, Sadie was overwhelmed. Too much chaos for her to really concentrate on finding treasure. On top of that, she was paralyzed by a strip of crepe paper that was blocking her path - she literally didn't know what to do.

Easter Bunny - not so keen on him.

Brunch time was her event. All about the scrambled eggs and we got our $5 worth for her meal.

We cruised campus, told her stories of when we were there, where we met, where we got married. She was more concerned with checking out the classrooms and being assigned a mailbox.

Springtime!

First day of Spring and it was almost like summer. Finally (even if it was just for a day)! We wanted to make the most of the perfect weather - so spent the entire day outside. We headed down to Goodwill Park for a picnic and playground fun. Kids and families were everywhere, and being the people-watcher she is, Sadie was enthralled. After a little (messy) egg salad, she dominated the swing/slide combo.

Dunkachino

Monkey-see, monkey-do. Sadie watched Dad dunk some graham crackers in milk a few days ago, and then helped herself to it as well. Only downside of sharing...the whole hand goes in the glass.

Sadie O'Foster

She donned her kelly green on Wednesday for a bit o' luck on St. Patrick's day.

Rain Rain Go Away

We have reached our limit when it comes to cabin fever. Spring is around the corner, you can smell it in the air, but nature just doesn't want to hand it over. Today was one of those nasty, raw, cold Spring days and we are quickly running out of things to do in our house.

A few weeks ago Sadie taught herself how to go downstairs, so it's her new favorite thing. She goes up - reaches the top - then must come down. (Don't mind the hacking cough in the video)

She's constantly moving - and because of her calorie burning, she eats constantly. She ate so much today, we were just waiting for it all to make a return trip. Thankfully she kept it down. Before lunch alone she ate two bananas, french toast - followed by my french toast, slice of cheese, a kiwi, handful of crackers and a lot of milk. That's quite a bit for a tiny stomach.

The rest of the day included a lot of roaming around and pulling everything out of closets (another fave hobby) - and pig-pile-on-James. Capped with bites of Dad's frozen yogurt.

Country Clubber

I'm in rainy, cold Phoenix for work, while it's warm and sunny at home. It figures. And while away, Dad and Sadie have been spending a lot of quality father-daughter time together. Alex is anxious to get Sadie on the links and groom her into a scholarship-driven prodigy. Today he took her to Aunt Gerry's condo complex in Milford, which is surrounded by a small course to let her run around and test out her putting skills.

Time's A Tickin'

Fourteen months today. Next week will officially be a year that I went back to work after my maternity leave and Sadie started daycare. We've come full circle. I was looking at some photos of her at about 5 months old and it was like I didn't recognize that baby. And I missed that baby. I find myself always eager to get to the next step, but I certainly don't want to wish away what we have.

Every night we play as a family in Sadie's room before bathtime. It ends up with her being stripped down to her diaper in a full dance party mode - Madonna, Whitney or Puff Daddy serenading. Sadie stomps her feet, pumps her fists and taps her chest with her fingertips. It's pretty amusing. And then she just runs full speed back and forth. What a nut! We've tried to videotape, but as you can see she has a bit of an obession with cameras. She just has to hold them. Sadie thinks it's hilarious when we chase her around, look at the mischief on her face!
