Family Photo

Please note that I wasn't supposed to be in this picture. It was 8am on a Sunday. It was was to be a quick trip out of the house to Breakfast with Santa in town. I wanted to go for a run afterward, and wasn't willing to shower twice. Fast forward to being next in line for Santa - and we had a baby in the throes of an emotional breakdown (this is the norm for him lately, fyi...any strangers will cause a tizzy). Sadie had her game face on, which was too bright for a camera flash apparently.

I'd like to add that we had the option to get a re-do, since Princess's eyes were closed. She opted not to. She liked it as it was. I'm starting to agree with her. It says a lot about the chaos of life right now, and how we are perfectly imperfect.

Only The Best Friends

Birthday Boy

My, my...what a year it's been. It's blown by so fast, I can remember holding a sleepy infant on my lap during Christmas as if it was yesterday. My little Leo has grown so much - not only in size but in personality. He thinks his sister is the most interesting thing on the planet. He thinks his dog is hysterical. He knows to come to mom for cuddles - and for his safe spot, securely on the hip. He knows to go to Dad if he wants to joke around.

He is a pizza lover. Self-proclaimed fruitatarian. Loves yanking on the hose that connects the dishwasher, so much so that we're bound to spring a leak one of these days. Hates being covered in blankets, yet adores Sadie's bed. He's strong as an ox, but that runny nose won't stop running and wiping boogies away is the worst thing in the world. He's a climber and explorer. He's an adventurer of all sorts. He's a perfect gem that has blessed our lives beyond measure.
