2010 marks the year of the Halloween come back. I haven't had this much fun since my last dress up excursion in 1992. And while I don't have photos to document tonight, I hope my words will paint a picture.
I got the Tooth Fairy costume on one more time, just to do a quick run across the street to the O'Learys. They oohed and ahhed, she did some twirls with a kick. As we were coming back to the house, the first trick-or-treater had arrived. Sadie wanted full control of the bowl of candy (of course) - but instead of handing out the treats, she liked to just stir them like it was brownie batter.
With her face pressed to the glass, she surveyed the street for movement - then should would shriek "KIDSSS!". The majority of them were high schoolers who were too lazy to even attempt a costume, but we had a few young ones. She even had her pack of daycare friends buzz by. They all stared at each other in disbelief, like unicorns - or like seeing a teacher in the supermarket. Just strange and out of place. She was on a full on sugar high, minus most of the sugar (she indulged in half a KitKat).
I have a few cute fall pictures from jumping in leaves, as well as today when I got a pony tail to stay in for longer than 10 seconds. This one lasted 10 minutes. It's a start.
