Movers and Shakers

I was never one to complain about pregnancy, particularly when it came to exhaustion...but this one is throwing me for a loop. I'm not going to blame the hormones or unborn child, I'm going to place the square blame on the two kiddos I already have. Weekends are non-stop. Once I get out of bed (6am on average these days), I rarely get to sit down until baths are had and books are read close to 8pm. Leo is a great sleeper - goes down like a dream, sleeps through the night for the most part - but man, that kid is an early riser. If there's not farmer blood in him, who knows. He's a little alarm clock between 5am and 6am every day. And once he's up - he never stops. Sure there's an hour nap in the afternoon, but other than that, his legs are like a roadrunner lawn ornament just constantly moving.

It's been a fun few months to get outside. Sadie likes to practice soccer and t-ball in the yard. Leo uses his mini-lawn mower to cut grass up and down the street. We eat al fresco often. Let them slurp on an ice cream cone now and again.

We've had some adventures too. Taking Memorial Day to go to the NE Aquarium and a boat ride to explore George's Island. We've had a few trips to Snake Pond so that Sadie can practice her snorkeling and Leo can get a better grip on walking in sand. We treated Dad, on Father's Day, to breakfast and the driving range (will note: this picture is deceitful. While it looks peaceful, Sadie screamed that she didn't want pointers on how to golf and Leo wanted to wander out on the range and threw a fit when we carried him back. Happy that the ranger didn't come tell us to leave, but I'm sure they thought about it). 

Leo has turned into a master copy cat, doing what everyone else is doing. When it's lawn time, he gets out his mower too and mimics the way Alex moves the mower. Newest move: the push forward, followed by the one handed pull back to get tight spaces.


Sadie "graduated" from Pre-K last week, treating us to a few songs and a photo slideshow. She powered through her kindergarten screening this morning, likely charming the pants off everyone as I sat for over an hour in the parent waiting area.

This summer has more adventure ahead - a week or two at the Cape, a trip to LA/Disney and hopefully a few naps for me.
