Well, Why Not?

People say there aren't many surprises in life. I most often hear this when a couple decides to wait until a baby is born to know the gender. I've always found out the genders of my children, and yet am still able to find surprises in life. My latest surprise came my way in late January when I discovered that I was graced with baby # 3.

I can fully admit that it wasn't a surprise I would have ever expected, or was comfortable with off the bat. The concept did take a little getting used to. I had given away all of my maternity clothes, all my baby gear, was a day or so away from tossing my pump. Leo was well on his way to toddler hood and I believed I was done with the tough life of midnight feedings, pumping at work, clothes that don't fit, and extreme nausea.

But here we are, gearing up and excited (once again) to welcome baby boy Foster in early October. It'll likely be another planned section, so I'm gunning for October 6th at the moment.

And while this all occurs in my body, life is still being lived on the outside with Sadie and Leo. The beat goes on...

Last Sunday was Easter. The bunny was a tricky one this year. He decided to give baskets in the house with little prizes (gardening tools, socks, etc) but hid the eggs with treats in the yard. Silly bunny. Leo like the Easter grass the most. Man does that stuff make a mess. He shoveled it, spread it around, gave it a few kicks and shouted "uh-oh!".

We are rolling into Spring (which still seems to take forever) with open arms. My busy travel season is upon us - though not as busy as in the past. I get gorgeous photos like this to keep me sane while away.

We've been hitting the Cape more often too (ok, well once in April...but we're going again in May!). The weekend prior to Easter we hit up a free egg hunt at the YMCA camp in Sandwich (someday may be a great day camp for the kids - great views!).

Sadie was onto the Easter bunny though. While shy to take a picture she let me know she saw a "guy's neck" in the costume so there was no fooling her.

Sadie's already starting to wind down her Preschool days. Kindergarten registration happened a few months back, and my first payment is almost due. It'll be interesting to have her in K while I'm home in the fall with a new baby. It'll give me something to look forward to when she hops off the bus in the afternoon and we can spend some precious time together.

Her class participates in 'swim and gym' on Thursdays. They take a bus to a gym in Framingham and receive 30 mins of gym time and 30 mins of swim time. I was able to sneak away from work not long ago to see her. I made the mistake of letting her know I was planning on going - so when I got there, she was wandering around waiting for me.

And there's our gorgeous first born boy, who has suddenly turned from baby to toddler. He's a climber. He's a chatterbox like his sister (and father) and can say big words like football, bubbles, car, Maggie,  and thank you. He does an awful lot of giggling and running in a day. He's shy but loves a belly laugh. He's just such a good kid, I can't imagine life without him. And I know in just a handful of months I'll be saying that all over again with my 'someone new'.
