Our Memorial Day Cape plans were foiled this weekend when one of our cats became deathly ill. This forced us to stay close to home. But to make the best of the weekend, we decided to get out of the house and enjoy the attraction of living so close to the city.
We drove down to Soldier's Field Road to park and took the mile walk to Harvard Square. It was a lot hotter than expected, so by the time we got there the three of us were sweaty. Then the black clouds rolled in and lightening began to strike. We found refuge in b.good - a small eatery - where Sadie dumped a full 16 oz. glass of lemonade down Mom's legs.
We decided to then pop-a-squat on a nice grassy area by the river. What's nice is that Cambridge closes Memorial Drive on Sunday's - which gives way to lots of bike riding, rollerblading and baby walking. Sadie had a quick diaper change, a little snack and play time - and soon became a hot mess. Needless to say, the shirt came off. She has no shame.
