We took time from work to spend the day as a family at the Big E. I had been talking about going every year since 1996 but never got around to it. I find that we do a lot of things now that we had been procrastinating on before, which is a great thing.
The Eastern States Exposition is the sixth largest agricultural fair in the United States and was always a big to-do when we were growing up. But now going as an adult was a completely different experience. We walked around to the state buildings, got sick off of a shared bag of Rhode Island clam fritters and marvled at the people in pajama pants walking around with "Texan sized" loaded baked potatoes and giant turkey legs.
We browsed everything on the grounds - walked the midway, listened to some live infomercials and checked out some pre-fab sheds. Sadie liked the wishing well.

Sadie got up close and personal with the wildlife the Big E had to offer. She was most taken with the baby chicks, an active beehive and a petting zoo camel that was pacing back and forth in front of her (don't worry, we didn't let her touch anything).
Her highlight of the day was putting her face in the little lamb cut out. She'd peek through and a crowd of people would be waving at her. She became a performer for her adoring public.
