Whadda Weekend

We got one last taste of summer with 80-degree temps. Combine that with 3 days at the Cape, and it's pure perfection. Amazingly gorgeous all around.

Sadie is a sucker for a party, so we had a football party when the Pats were playing on Sunday. Aside from steamers, bbq and my grandmother's potato salad recipe (one of my fave things in the world!) we feasted on marshmallows over the fire pit. Sadie got in a few bites, but was more intrigued with burning stuff. Nothing like a 2 year old playing with fire. She lives life on the edge.

Alex and I took Monday off from work - and to our delight it was another picture perfect day. It's been a to-do of mine to bike along the Cape Cod Canal for yearssss. Every time we are driving home from the Cape, I have the automatic thought I need to do it some day. And my day had come.
With Sadie riding shotgun with me, we biked a lovely 10 mile ride along the water. Sadie gets a huge kick out of the Sagamore and Bourne bridges when we are driving over them (she'll scream "hold on!!!") - but riding under them was a whole new experience. Couple that with boats of all shapes and sizes (a few who honked at her tiny waving hand), an assortment of birds and dozens of walkers/bikers/roller bladers - there wasn't a shortage of entertainment. It was our perfect weekend.
