Hot Mess Christmas

The long-awaited holiday has come and gone - and I think we are all a little thankful. Sadie has not been feeling good lately. It started with a perpetual runny nose a few weeks ago, followed by a nasty cough this week, and peaked with a 102-degree fever today. Sadie tried hard to be her typical charming self, but this is all she could muster.

Christmas Eve was a festive affair with the Aunts (Kristin & Heather) and Grandma & Pepere. Even with a late-day nap, Sadie just wasn't feeling it. We made it through presents, then hit the sack. Sadie tore a few pieces of wrapping paper and showed little interest - the winner of the day was the box of diaper cream. The gift that keeps on giving.

Christmas morning Sadie woke up equally crabby, yet still managed to be a stunner in her holiday party dress.

We headed out to Nana & Papa's house for some more gift giving. Sadie befriended a bear from Auntie Gerry, dismantled a Christmas tree, had a Nana-directed photo shoot and tore through a new box of blocks from Aunt Judi.

Not too shabby for a first Christmas...if only Santa didn't bring a virus.
