The Bucket List

The conclusion of our weekend brought us to none other than the infamous Boynton Restaurant in Worcester. It was one of the hot spots to hang out for some quick food and drinks in college. Anyone who's ever gone to college in Worcester holds it near and dear to their heart. It's changed dramatically since our time. In the late 90's it was a wooden, worn pub in need of a cosmetic and culinary face lift. Since then it's morphed into a reasonably priced upscale eatery. Steaks, interesting salads, gourmet pizzas - but through it all they still offer their signature dish. Or should I say, bucket.

The Bucket is a concoction of coconut rum, blackberry brandy, raspberry vodka, triple sec, Blue Curacao and fresh juices. There's a requirement that it be served to two or more persons. And the topper is that it comes in a beach pail with super long straws. Yep, like the kind of pail that a kid would use on a beach.

Alex has his own great memories with college friends. For me - it brings sweet flashbacks of laughing with friends, playing Never Would I Ever, picking the olives off of everyone's nachos, and my fair share of Buckets.

The last time Alex and I were at the Boynton was 2005. We were muscled into taking Father Gallagher who would eventually marry us out for dinner during one of our pre-requisite counseling sessions. Almost six years later, we've come a long way, baby.
