I took Sadie to her 3 year check up yesterday. She's pretty damn perfect. She was able to do a lot of grown up things this time around - like try out the eye chart, the regular scale (instead of the one that reminds me of the deli) and a hearing test. All very exciting for about the 3 seconds before her attention was turned to other things. She passed with just enough reassurance that she's not going deaf or blind.

She's checking in at a whopping 31.6 lbs - in the 61st percentile. Height is 35.5 inches, in the 13th percentile. She apparently shrunk by a quarter inch since last visit. We are chalking that up to a squirmy kid and severe over-estimation.

The days just get better and more interesting with her. Hilarious commentary flows from her lips at such a rate that I find it hard to remember or keep track of. We are now aware of monsters (or better yet - the fear of Peter Pan coming coming in search of his shadow at night). Bedtime is the biggest brawl. Lots of screaming and carrying on but it's strategic - she plays us for a fool constantly. If you threaten to take away a nightlight, she'll say she didn't want it in the first place. Same with toys, the door opened a crack or the flashlight. She'll gladly give them all up to prove us wrong.

One other remarkable thing about Miss Foster is her memory. We can go into a random store and she'll tell me what we last bought there. Then again, I love when she gets on her "remember that?" rants. She's usually recalling something that we did earlier in the day. So yes, I do remember.
