With the warm summer days and nights, we tend to spend a lot of time outdoors putting around the yard. I've been on a hot search on craigslist for a toddler climber/slide combo so Sadie can expend some of that boundless energy - but we've started to build a nice little collection of other outdoor goods for her entertainment.
My co-worker Mary gave us a crab-shaped sandbox. After a few bags of $2 playsand and plastic shovels - we're in business. Sadie likes to shovel the dirt out of the crab though. A bit messy and counterproductive. 
I was also turned on to freecycle, thanks to Aunt Heather. Today us girls picked up a classic kiddie coupe car free of charge. The in-and-out of the car door serves hours of playtime. She has yet to figure out how to maneuver herself with leg power, but those days are soon to come.
Here's just a cute one of her first taste of corn on the cob. Anything she can do all by herself is A-OK.
