Nana treated us to Sesame Street Live this afternoon at the pretty Hanover Theater in Worcester. With the anticipation building, Sadie was giddy with excitement on the ride over.
Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie and crew took to the stage for "Imagine 1-2-3" and did an array of songs with dances. She quietly clapped along, but had more of a glazed look. After a few numbers, she was more focused on getting "downstairs" to the stage level. She wanted to see the sweat on their brows.
Intermission hit and we took a walk around. I would have gotten her an Elmo balloon - or taken Nana up on her offer - but not for $10. You can get the same thing at the Dollar Store down the street. Rip off.
After 90 minutes of showtunes, she had enough. We left with probably one song to go. Our big mistake was the lack of nap - both today and yesterday. The holidays are officially over, New Year's Resolution #1: daily nap for a happy child.
